Item used in Crafting gets Destroyed

So I'm using a matchbox from Realistic Torches to craft Lit torches, which functions correctly in the normal crafting way (by damaging the item by 1 each time a craft is successful), however when using primitive crafting it just destroys the item.

This issue applies to most "damage this item, use the others" recipes with damaged items. When done with undamaged items, they tend to not receive the damage they should.
