I am so excited to open up Discussions on the official QuickBars repo! As QuickBars grows, I want this to be the central hub for the users/contributors to share ideas and ask questions.

What is this space for?

• Q&A & Troubleshooting: Need help mapping a specific remote button? Can't get your camera PiP to stream correctly? Ask here!
• Show and Tell: We want to see your setups! Share photos or videos of how you use QuickBars on your TV.
• Tips & Tricks: Share your favorite Home Assistant automations, scripts, or dashboard setups that pair perfectly with the app.
• Ideas & Brainstorming: Have a loose idea for a feature but aren't sure how it should work yet? Let's discuss it before making a formal feature request.

This looks like a fantastic project, so it's with great sadness that the first post here is regarding a problem.

Simply put, after installing and successfully linking to HA, QuickBars is not listed under Accessibility in my Android TV options. So I can't use my remote control.

All that shows is Audio type, Visually impaired, AC4 dialogue enhancement, Captions, High contrast text & Text to speech.

It's a Panasonic 4KTV-JUP version 11 with kernel version 4.19.195+

Hey Pete, are there other apps that you have that require Accessibility settings, and do appear under the Accessibility settings?

There are some OEMs that block this for some reason, and there's nothing I can do about it as a developer, unfortunately.
You can check out the code now that it's open source - the accessibility settings permissions are requested according to official Android guidelines.

I'm hoping it can be solved with your existing device!

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have any other apps installed to test with I'm afraid.

Sadly I suspect Panasonic have blocked the behaviour for some reason. A shame as it's a pretty good system otherwise.

Hey, I suggest trying this workaround.
The app's package name is "dev.trooped.tvquickbars".

Let me know if it works!
