Specify log format

I'm using Papertrail to store all my logs. Right now the default and only format is json. is there anyway to specify a custom format for the log messages? Thanks!

This library is not a general purpose syslog library, but rather is designed to be used in conjunction with node-bunyan to stream log records in the bunyan format through a syslog server. The bunyan format is a JSON format with a number of specified fields, as well as the ability to include any extra custom fields that might be helpful.
