bro status says running but web interface has ... and red exclamation #60

I understand this project was started years ago....and thank you for this. I managed to install it on Ubuntu 18.04 after a few modifications from your setup.py
Everything seems to be running fine except for the Bro IDS status under Sensor Services has a red exclamation point and ...
Do you know why? /opt/nsm/bro/bin/broctl does exist. As stated above when running sudo /opt/nsm/bro/bin/broctl status it says running.
