Lab_9 vs. QPSK_Radio projects?

Currently, the files under these two projects do not match.

Chilipepper\Labs\Lab_9
Chilipepper\QPSK_Radio

They are both suppose to represent the final QPSK radio, but they aren't. Can you identify which one is the correct one?

Well, they should not be an identical match. Both should allow for QPSK sending and receiving, however Lab 9 has additional LED outputs for debug, and the QPSK radio should have LEDs representing signal strength, and inputs to allow for changing the transmit signal strength.

Is there any documentation that specified the differences in creating the QPSK_radio vs. the lab 9?

Specifically on the details on what how to interpret the LED representing the signal strength and also how to change the transmit signal strength?

No, the QPSK Radio has not had a document outlining it's added features to my knowledge. However it is a great suggestion, and I will add it as a document in the Chilipepper Support Folder. (or potentially in the documentation folder of the QPSK Radio directory)

Another suggestion is perhsaps create reference documents where people can reference how to do things vs. remember what lab it was done to go back to figure out how it works.

Example: In Lab 3, it talks about using the chipscope to verify the results. However, it leaves out how to add the chipscope to the actual EDK model. I'm assuming that it is because it talked about in Lab2. In this case, you can say please reference so and so document so the user doesn't have to remember what lab and what part of the older labs shows that. Maybe a master appendix at the top leverl. Users may just jump around in terms of doing the labs.

Is there anyway you can give me a quick notes on the changes for the QPSK_radio or the supported new functionality? Sorry for the rush, but working on a capstone project that is due in june.

Well, the quick version is there are three features of the qpsk radio
project that are not included in lab 9 (new functionality as you called it).

1. The LEDs on the zed board represent the signal strength of the AGC
   rather than debug signals about the cores.

2. The switches on the fpga are used to set the strength of the tx gain.
   (With the exception of the two used to set the mode of tx/rx, tx button
   press, etc)

3. The transmit/receive has an added layer 2 function which requires for
   sent packets to be acknowledged before new ones can be sent (or they time
   out from retires).

I just checked GitHub and it looks like the first two features above are
missing from the current qpsk radio project so I'll be sure to update that,
but the code is already in the sdk project. If you need those features now
before I push an update, you can just add the switches to the edk design
using the standard process (remember what you named it) and assign the leds
as gpio external ports. Also the previous releases of the labs has an
example of how to set it up.
