<p>Athena queries data directly in S3 using standard SQL. Supports CSV, JSON, Parquet, ORC, and Avro formats. Uses the Glue Data Catalog for table definitions and schema discovery. Federated queries extend to RDS, DynamoDB, and external sources.</p>
