Doesn't compile on Ubuntu or centos or Debian

Lib yaml is older on rhel and static compiling doesn't work right. Please use dynamic linking and fix static linking. Also, we need to figure out a solution for rhel and Debian.

Now works in Debian 8 (Jessie), but doesn't work in 7 (Wheezy) due to an outdated yaml version.

Ticket #2 fixes incompatibilities with older OSs (for the most part). That last commit mostly fixes compatibility issues, though we need to stop using the iterators in libconfig since they aren't in libconfig < 1.5. Also need to figure out how to dynamically switch the -std=c++11 flag to -std=c++0x flag for CentOS 6 (Debian wheezy works fine with the newer flag).
