A list of 7000 languages is impractical. Make the common easy, make the uncommon possible.

Start by suggesting likely languages:

• Languages this author has chosen before in the same tool
• Languages in the author's browser content preferences
• Candidate languages auto-detected in the authored content

It's okay to mark a language automatically, if the author knows you did it and can override it.
