Password Protected Servers

Password protected servers would disallow any sort of connection until the correct password is entered. This ensures private servers are actually private and not just hidden.

if you want a private server you just keep your IP and port private

Is there any other common use-case for this? The only other one I can think of is to allow password-protected, publicly-listed servers, but that sounds quite specific.

Thing is you can scan ports rather easily
Im not entirely certain if it's all that functional
Especially if people never bother to change the port from the default

Port scanning seems to me like an overkill activity someone would do for merely obtaining access to a server's mods, as the most malicious intent that would be possible. And setting a password would be a similar ordeal as changing port, i.e. if user can't be bothered to change the port why would they bother to set the password.

Not disregarding this, just trying to understand the purpose better.

One other major thing I can think of would be streamers that accidentally leak their private server's IP address. Having a password is another layer of actual security and access control, especially since KissMP does not have a traditional account system.
