It appears fi is not installed correctly - did you try:
npm i -g fi-compiler

It's not recognising the installation of fi, do you have node.js installed as well? Can you provide the version you are running.

And can you provide output of:

fi --version

fi is a reserved keyword of bash or other shells to close if-then-else-fi clause. That's why your shell complains it as "unexpected token".

Use the full path of the binary /usr/local/bin/fi or what you find by which fi instead.

I am afraid many people might give up trying fi just due to this glitch. The binary name should be renamed such as fi-comp or something.
