Video buffering even when 'Autoplay videos' is disabled

QuaX preloads and buffers videos even when the Autoplay videos toggle is off. This defeats the purpose of the setting and causes unnecessary data usage. A dedicated Disable video preloading option (or linking preloading to the Autoplay toggle) would resolve this.

An option to disable automatic media fetching already exists. Settings > General > Media size > Disabled

Thanks for pointing that out. You are right that Media size > Disabled exists, but it is a 'nuclear option'—it makes the feed text-only by blocking all images and thumbnails, requiring a tap just to see context.

The goal here is a middle ground: allow image previews and video thumbnails to load, but prevent video buffering until the user explicitly taps the play button. I believe a specific Disable video preloading option (or linking it to the Autoplay setting) would solve this.
