Parachute & Recovery Testing [ANALYSIS] #32

Description

A safe recovery from 35k to 40k ft in the air is no joke. The rocket this year will be recovered under a single separation, dual deployment method. Each stage of the rocket will have two parachutes: 1 large and 1 small. The smaller parachute (drogue) will provide minimal deceleration until a certain altitude when the larger main parachute is deployed. Before the large parachute deploys however, the chute will be bundled up into a package which will provide additional drag like a second drogue chute.

The exact amount of drag and deceleration need to be measured and analyzed to ensure safe, reliable, and legal recovery as enforced by the competition. Work closely with Cooper Brown and find opportunities to take advantage of drop testing from his drone set up.
