Description
Context: We need an omnidirectional antenna to be high up and resonant on the 1.2Ghz band, it additionally needs to be vertical and as light as possible to allow for deployment on a balloon. It can be made of any conductive material (look at thin copper wires or copper tapes), or it can be purchased if you can find one that fits the specifications. Look at things like an inverted V, or a quarter wave end-fed dipole. Use the software 4Nec2 to model the antenna at various elevations.
Deliverable: A lightweight antenna resonant on 1.2Ghz and matched to 50 ohms.
