Feature Description

I was interested in this mod for the purpose of adding command macros into the radial menu that controllable offers but since that works by allowing you to select existing actions from the minecraft bindings only it doesn’t seem like this mod will work together currently.

My idea of how this could be implemented is by registering the macros that this mod provides as individual bindings so that the controllable mod is able to pick this up, or if bindings cannot be changed at runtime after initialisation then possibly providing a hardcoded amount of binding hotkeys that can then be mapped to specific macros inside the mods configuration profiles.

For the ability to use this mod to create macros that are available for use in the controllable radial menus.

MC keybinds do need to be registered on initialization, if this was implemented how many binds would be appropriate?

Id say possibly 5-10 would be enough for most use cases but would it also be possible to have a dynamic amount of them be registered based on some configuration value; Say the default could be 5 but it could have more registered next restart based on the saved config value which i believe would be available during initialisation for reading?

I know that the second option of dynamic amounts based on a config value would take more time to implement so just to get the ball rolling an initial hard-coded amount would work just fine I believe.

No immediate ETA on getting it done since it will require structural changes that would be best bundled with the other update I'm working on.

In the absence of enough free time to get this done 'properly' I've made a quick build temporarily available via actions artifacts. I can't warrant that the implementation is free of issues, but it's all I'll be doing for the foreseeable future.

To use it, simply open the relevant macro and set the index number of the MC keybind. There are 5 keybinds by default (index 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). You can alter the count in main options (requires restart).

Sorry i didn't see your reply earlier, i also didn't realise i wasn't on latest since i'm playing on the modpack MCE2 which is 1.20.1; I've can't seem to find a build for forge 1.20.1 or if you could point me in the right direction.

I've now made a 1.20.1 version of the temporary build available at the link below. Please note that if the feature is eventually added to the mainstream mod it will likely only exist on latest, due to the extended time commitment required to maintain support for old versions.

I've been able to test this now and it works perfectly, only things i would suggest to improve it are that when creating the macro it auto starts a index 0 while the key binds only start at 1, so maybe it should be a empty value instead of 0 automatically; When assigning macros to the key bind they also are able to assign multiple to a single one so maybe just some checking if anything has been assigned to one already, could also be nice if the macro keybinds upon restart picked up on the command that's input and take that as their name as when assigning to the radial menu for controllable they all just appear as macro 1 - 5 etc, so that could help with identifying them.

No worries on trying to rush to implement this though i'm happy with using it as is, thanks for your quick work!

Noted, will be considered for the potential future implementation.

Except for the last point which is impractical because MC uniquely identifies keybinds by their translation key, so to my knowledge the only way to achieve it would be a runtime override of the translation values which is possible but not, in my opinion, justified.
