No OTP SMS codes being delivered

Trying to login to account through the mobile app.

Steps to reproduce:

• attempt to login to Telegram using iOS or Android
• Get prompted to enter number for sms code
• Wait for sms code
• No sms code sent

Expected behaviour:

• get sms code delivered to the phone

Actual behaviour:

• no sms code delivered

Same thing here, Telegram does this intentionally, in some countries only, like Indonesia. You cannot login EVEN WITH NEW SIM card because “code sent to other device” and no support options to resolve this!

I'm Indonesian and I just resolved this issue. I have 3 different smartphones, and turns out only 2 of them can receive the code via email or SMS. One of them can't even trigger the code to be sent. Possible causes are:

• Your phone should be updated to use the latest version of the OS.
• Use the latest version of Telegram (released 1-2 months ago, not older than that).
• If you're using Android, ensure that Google Play Service is running, updated, and logged in.

so how exactly have you resolved this issue? do you mean that before you were getting "code sent to other device" and then you somehow resolved this by using another phone, or what?

• 2 of my devices don't have issue, and probably irrelevant. They just make me think "so the issue is specific to particular device, not because of my account, phone number, cellular carrier service, simcard, location, country, etc".
• Another device is having the issue, asking for the code (that being sent to other device), but doesn't actually trigger the code to be sent (through SMS/email or other devices). I tried various way (listed in my previous comment) and finally able to make this device able to trigger the code and login to telegram.
