Support for 2D and 3D Cartesian coordinate systems (non-geospatial data)

Any plans to add support for 2D and 3D Cartesian coordinate systems for non-geospatial data? The specification is very interesting for GEO-based data, but doesn't seem to have any support for alternate coordinate systems.

There are no plans from our perspective, but if you have a relation that you can easily design, feel free to PR it.
