Larger backups for new or upgraded ramlinks

Thank you for this tool and the work that you put into it. I find it very useful.

I have a Ramlink with 64mb (Ramlink XL from Corei64), and it looks like only 16mb are saved on the USB (via my 1541 Ultimate-ii+ cartridge). Is there a way to modify the program to consider larger Ramlink capacities? Is this a limitation of the REU size on the 1541 Ultimate-ii+?

When I wrote the program, I was not aware that RAMLinks with more than 16mb existed.

I'll look into what it takes to support larger sizes. It's been years since I worked on this code, so it will take me a while to get up to speed again. Also, I don't have a RAMLink XL nor do I know of any emulator that supports it, so I will have to rely on you for testing.

When you start Tachyon RL, does it correctly display the size of your RAMLink XL?

I'm using RAMLinks Direct RAM Access for greater access speed, but that only has 3 byte address for memory in the RAMLink, which maxes out at 16mb, so I'm not sure how to access more memory. Do you have any documentation for the RAMLink XL?

I am more than happy to test out any changes. When I start Tachyon RL (great name btw) it doesn't display the correct size of my Ramlink XL. It says it has 16MB when in reality it has 64MB.

There's some documentation here COREi64 in the form of an Addendum (see Downloads section). I am not sure how helpful that is.

According to COREi64 documentation:

Direct RAM Access Enhancement:
Memory location $DE0A (bits 5-0) now contains the highest order address bits (29-24) in the
RAMLink address space.

• Previous behavior: Bits 5-0 were always set to 0
• Impact on existing software: Minimal—this change should not affect existing software since these bits were previously unused

Thank you for the information. Adding support should be rather straightforward. I'll let you know when I have something to test, might take a while though.
