Contributing Guidelines

Terms and Conditions

  1. Event Duration: Register for Hacktoberfest anytime between September 26 and October 31. Register here.
  2. Eligible Projects: Pull requests can be submitted to any GitHub or GitLab project participating in Hacktoberfest (look for the “hacktoberfest” topic).
  3. PR Acceptance: Project maintainers must accept your pull/merge requests for them to count toward your total contributions.
  4. Completion Requirement: Have 4 pull/merge requests accepted between October 1 and October 31 to successfully complete Hacktoberfest.

Contribution Guidelines

  • Code Freedom: Feel free to contribute any code you like. Our mission is to collect clean, functional code.
  • Meaningful Contributions: Avoid trivial submissions like just printing "Hello World". Contributions should do something meaningful or demonstrate programming concepts.
  • Buggy Code: Submissions with bugs are welcome as long as the code runs. Please mention any known issues in your PR description — it helps others debug and makes the challenge more interesting!
