Allowing theme block extensions

To make theme blocks more re-usable and focused, it would be nice if a theme block could extends another theme blocks to augment it:

Not sure if this is the right place to suggest this, but this request just got me thinking it would also be nice to extend settings between sections.
For example if multiple sections have the option to set text color, background color, padding or whatever.
Maybe a folder with general schemas that you could extend in the sections.

We created custom types, and custom groups which get built into the standard Shopify ones in our build process, fyi. If you don't want to wait for Shopify to do this
