digitize only if corresponding detector geant hit container exists

Hi everyone. Sorry if I am in the wrong forum. I am just a 20th century physicist.

Sometimes one excludes some detector elements at simulation time.
And then, the digitization crashes because it finds no hit container for that detector element.
Is there a way to digitize detector data only if the latter exists ?
Something to be added in the digitize functions in ../FairShip/python/shipDigiReco.py ?

(The same idea could apply to reconstruction.)

Yes, that's definitely possible and indeed easy/quick to implement.

Which containers in particular are causing trouble?

In my particular case trouble came from digitizeSplitcal(), digitizeMuon(), digitize_SBT(), but the solution should be general (I think). Thanks

I made an issue for this: #738
I might be able to get around doing this today, as it's a very simple fix.

NB: I do not need it urgently. I got my dirty way around it. But I think it would be useful to have it for everyone.
