Why connection to 150.140.5.77?

When trying to get the latest version of mochad running on a new rpi install. It crashed after launch.
With strace it seems to connect to this IP which has no reverse lookup and seems to be located in greece... please explain:

Looking in the sources, it appears to be an AMQP connection to SensorFlare, my guess is that it has to do with their IoT service. I agree that it should not be on by default, but it doesn't appear malicious. It also should be trivial to disable it, for example by forcing the sendMessage function to immediately return rather than sending anything.
