Yay. So here are some characteristics of water.
- The ball by default will float along the top of a watery surface.
- With the "boulder" powerup, the ball will sink, but it can't swim.
- If the ball falls into the water from a height, it'll go down a bit before coming back up, and it'll "jump out" when it resurfaces due to the upward pressure. To me this suggests that water has to be some sort of vector force field - the longer you stay in the field, the more force (more acceleration) is applied.
- It'll probably be wise to have a timer when underwater if the player somehow gets stuck, and just kill the player off when that time elapses.
Not too sure how this'll be implemented. Maybe an object with a trigger collider, and when in the trigger apply an upward force to the ball. However, motion might look weird when at the edge of the water (it'll oscillate from alternating water and gravity forces).. there may be solutions online too.
