Can't enter more than one character into any input box

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start editing an input box (for example instrument name)
2. Erase any contents with backspace
3. Write

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to be able to input a full name. Instead, the character I enter gets 
replaced with the next character, so I can only have one-character names.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Protrekker v2.5.4 (latest Linux download)
Up-to-date Arch Linux
