As of now, there is a function filter_boundary in bdf.py that filters based on the satellite field-of-view (FOV). There should in addition be a function that filters by detection (i. e. GOES 16, 17, 18, 19) since even though a bolide is in the FOV, that doesn't necessarily mean it was detected by the satellite. This is mainly just an issue for data in the stereo region.
