Test multiple delays/smooths of the same variable with different orders/delays

There are some efficiency gains to be had if multiple model elements smooth the same variable the same amount, and so a globally accessible variable is nice. However, naming this variable could be a problem, if multiple functions try to smooth the same variable by different amounts.
