Game-breaking bug, please help!

I have not been able to find this bug anywhere online.

I started a new playthrough right after day three. Upon completing day 2, the loading screen froze at 100%. After waiting several minutes and pressing every button, I Alt-F4'd out of the game. Now, whenever I load it, I see the title cards, then the music starts.

Then, I see only a black screen with the cursor. I can move the cursor around and it leaves a trail. I have tried verifying game files, uninstalling, deleting my save data, and switching to the different betas, but nothing works.

Please help, I haven't seen all of it, but I really love this game.

Same exact bug for me, except I restarted the game after completing day 1, and then on the second playthrough the loading screen froze after day 1.

Platform is Windows 10.

Removing the entire save directory in AppData/LocalLow/Robot House/Rumu/Save helped.

Same issue here. On Windows 10 through Steam. I restarted the game to try to go for a new achievement and it infinite loading screened. Restarted and got the black screen and cursor trail. I saw the fid about removing the Save folder and in the process of backing up my old save file before deleting it, I encountered a warning from Windows when I tried to copy the files. Said the files were triggering my internet security settings and required manual confirmation before it would let me copy the files. Perhaps Windows is reacting to something in the files? Curiously enough, it didn't warn me when I tried to right click any single file or combination of the files, but only when I selected all files at once and then right clicked them.

I also encountered an issue with the achievement You're Not My Real Mom not being granted when giving the patch to the laundry hamper (which I cannot resolve in any way. RIP 16/17 achievements) and a part of me is wondering if the achievement issues people have had as well as this black screen cursor issue might be related to Windows reacting to something about the files and blocking their operations, thus causing game processes to fail.
