Feature request: restore window

Gesturefy has "restore tab" to restore the most recently closed tab, but no "restore window" (performed with Ctrl+Shift+N). Having this would be ideal.

I took a quick look at this today and realized that the "Restore Tab" command already restores windows as long as one doesn't activate the "current Window Only" option. So I feel like a combined command to restore the last window/tab is more convenient than having 2 commands/gestures.

Can you explain why you prefer having a separate command just for restoring windows?

The only situation I can imagine is:

1. I'm having 2 windows open lets call them W1 and W2.
2. I'm closing W2.
3. I'm closing some tabs in W1.
4. I realize that I want to restore W2. Now executing "Restore Tab" is unsuitable as it would restore the last tab I closed in W1.

An alternative solution to the above scenario would be to use the "Popup Recently Closed Tabs" command and include closed windows in its list (currently no such option exists).

Mainly for that situation described! I prefer to restore tabs through the recently closed tabs popup; if it's feasible to include windows in that popup, then that would be great!

Having some kind of indication that you're about to restore an entire window and not an individual tab would also be preferable if they're going to be grouped together (maybe even the text (window), or the emoji 🪟?). This could also be disabled by default, so that when the user checks "enable" they would also see a note about what indicates an entire window VS a tab.

I kinda like the idea. Still it would be a rather specific design choice showing a special icon for windows instead of the active tab icon. I also want the popup to work generic/agnostic to its contents so I would like to avoid introducing another icon (like on the right side) or special colors if it doesn't benefit other popup commands.

Just representing another idea I had (though I'm not super convinced of it either). Instead of including the closed window(s) in the list provided by the "Popup Recently Closed Tabs" command, one could also include every single tab of the closed window(s). The caveat here for me is that restoring such a tab must always restore the entire window with all its other tabs (and even though this could be counteracted, by default the last active tab of the window will be active which is not necessarily the tab the user intended to restore)

That's sort of my current use case for this: I'm generally in the habit of separating similar tabs into their own windows, so in many cases I'm only discriminating between the general "topics" of windows, rather each individual tab in them. (EG: a window where all of its tabs are online listings for computer mice). So: separate windows, but generally ones that contain several tabs.

I do like the idea of having a separate popup command with both tabs and windows mixed together. The main benefit of a combined popup (that i can see) would be only having to map one command, VS mapping 2. However, I always know beforehand whether I want to restore a window or a tab, and so combined info would create some clutter.

If nothing else, "popup recently closed windows" makes sense because it's so analogous to Firefox's existing dropdown:

My plan is to go for one of the two solutions below.

Solution 1 - Have separated commands

RestoreTab
RestoreWindow
RestoreSession (restores last window or tab)

PopupRecentlyClosedTabs
PopupRecentlyClosedWindows
PopupRecentlyClosedSessions (shows recently closed windows and tabs)

Benefits:

• easier to find / name more descriptive

Solution 2 - Have a combined command with a setting

RestoreSession [Subject: Any, Tabs, Windows]

PopupRecentlyClosedSessions [Subject: Any, Tabs, Windows]

Benefits:

• less code duplication
• less crowded command list

Alternative name: RestorePage / PopupRecentlyClosedPages

While solution 1 is fine, I do think code duplication and adding 4+ more commands to the list is a significant enough "con".

For solution 2, I definitely prefer "page" to "session" - "restoring a session" to me means restoring the all windows open windows from the last time the program was run.

Solution 2 could also be "restore tab or window" and "popup recently closed tabs or windows". It's wordier, but IMO it's more descriptive, and ensures that they will appear when searching commands. I imagine it defaulting to "both", and having a preference to pick one or the other.
