Self-host on GCP Free Tier

Hey folks,

FYI, I built a Terraform + mise setup to self-host OpenFang on GCP's free tier.

What it does

• Provisions a free e2-micro VM (us-central1) via Terraform
• Installs the OpenFang binary directly
• ~40 MB idle RAM, cold start <200ms, stays within the GCP free tier
• Telegram channel configured out of the box
• OpenRouter as the AI provider (free models available for piloting)
• All tasks via mise — mise run bootstrap and you're live

Stack

• IaC: Terraform + cloud-init
• Task runner: mise
• Channel: Telegram
• Provider: OpenRouter
