API for registrant dashboard

To implement a dashboard for registrants, the backend needs api endpoints for registrants to authenticate and get a token, set/change password, confirm attendance (already exists I think), and cancel registration (and more if needed).

Was this feature requested by someone or been discussed? My opinion is that initially this seems that the effort for this is not worth it. Dealing with authentication/users can be a nightmare and could lead to many issues. All the things that this dashboard seems to do, is already done through email and I think that works fine.

We discussed this in our meeting on Sunday. The dashboard makes things really convenient for registrants (inspired by OSU's Hack Ohio). Authentication is not a big deal, we are already using cipher encryption for emails, and client-side authentication is very similar to what already exists in the admin dashboard. It's just an enhancement, shouldn't take much time. If I can't finish it soon we can drop it. Also we don't have the specs for the judging platform yet so till then I'm working on this.
