Implement API to Provide data for Leaderboard

I’d love to work on this.

From the README and existing routes, I see the backend is an Express.js + MongoDB stack with Mongoose models and JWT-based auth. Based on the issue, here’s my proposed approach:

1. Define the leaderboard criteria
   Assuming “most popular projects” and “artist activity” are based on existing data I’ll:

Fetch and aggregate relevant metrics from Wallet, Transaction, or User collections.

Sort and limit the results based on popularity/activity

2. Add API Endpoint

GET /api/leaderboard that returns a list of top artists and/or projects with rank and metadata.

3. Code Structure

Create a new leaderboardController.js

Add route in routes/index.js or a new routes/leaderboard.js

Use Mongoose aggregation pipelines or service functions to compute rankings

4. Tests & Validation

Add basic unit tests (e.g. mock leaderboard logic)

Validate and sanitize input (if filtering/sorting added later)

Happy to clarify my assumptions and iterate once assigned.
