Element breaks in shadow dom on Chrome 59.0.3071.115

If I use paper-carousel in a Polymer 1.9 demo-snippet with dom: 'shadow' the element doesn't work at all. It does work when shadow dom is disabled.

The element works fine on Firefox and Safari, even with shadow dom enabled.

See attached image for the errors in the console.

We currently work on the new hybrid version with Polymer 2 and shadow dom compatibility. We will launch the new version in the next weeks.
