Please clarify: do you mean

• the assistant is not activated although set to "Automatically start .. with application":

• or is the quickFilters menu disabled? I think this one should have been covered in issue Improve startup stability #339

• which version of Thunderbird?

Let's use this as a basline for comparions. For convenience sake I filtered the log result with "quickFilters" but if you see any warnings / errors they need to be listed as well even if they do not explicitely mention quickFilters.
The most important line here is:

quickFilters setAssistantMode() AssistantActive: true qFilters-utils.js:898:15

but we can check whether anything is missing beforehand once you have set the debug switches accordingly.

1 - that would be the part "Automatically start assistant when App starts...". The red border just means that quickFilters is "watching" - and by default it is not switched on. So I assume you have activated that settings

2 - "and not happen" - you mean there is not even a dropdown menu?? Or do expect something else to happen? That would mean quickFilters wasn't even started... Can you still open quickFIlters settings from Add-ons Manager. note: when you click we expect a dropdown menu, and the top item of that is either Start Filter Assistant or End Filter Assistant.

3 - which version of Thunderbird (or Betterbird)? You still didn't answer that one, and it's important if I want even a slight chance to reproduce it. So far I have tried:

• Tb beta 148.0b2

• Thunderbird 128.14 ESR
• Thunderbird 140.7.1 ESR
• Thunderbird 147.0.1 (current Release)

• they all load the assistant on startup when I enable that in quickFilters settings

4 - what other Add-ons do you run? If 2 is true and not even the menu displays it points to a deeper problem in your mail profile.
