The purpose of this repository is to keep an archived but functional copy of ADMS. Please keep contributions down to minimal patches towards this purpose and avoid the discussion of hypothetical changes.

If you know better, please consider maintaining ADMS, here or elsewhere.

We are still working on a modelgen based replacement for ADMS [1]. It's not a full alternative right now, as it does not support the XML "code templates" for ADMS. We use C++ code to generate output. Porting more of these templates to modelgen output code (similar to "targets" in Icarus) is feasible and was originally intended. Such ADMS templates exist to generate C code for Spice, which has been a very popular use. Unfortunately, Ngspice has dropped support for code generated with ADMS. The Xyce team is still using ADMS, afaik, but now working on suporting Verilog-A some other way. ADMS has been maintained here as part of Qucs, but Qucs is moving on without it [2]. The goal is to integrate Verilog-AMS, which seems out of reach from ADMS, Qucsator and from the various Spice derivatives. Gnucap supports models written for Spice, and, ironically, may end up as the only practical use of ADMS. Think of it as genealogy. I suggest to study the history, learn what works and what does not.
