Error Checking for Save and Load

Detailed Description

Currently, there is no error checking for the save/load system. Ideally errors such as an invalid JSON file being uploaded should be reported to the user, and defaulting to the initial state.

Context

If we don't do this, then we may end up with the user in a place they aren't expecting, or having several items incorrectly loaded.
