The Issue

In current version, the zh_cn translation of the mod is unpolished and, in my opinion, used AI for translating and didn't do any of correcting work.

  The item's name literally says "Request Stop Stopping Request button", which means the button to request a stop at the request stop.
  You can replace it with "招呼站按钮" ("Request Stop Button").

• 

  This however, won't be confusing to players. But the name translated into English is "Station Name Sign (White)",
  while all other names like "白色羊毛" ("White Wool") use neither a bracket or a postpositional attributive.
  Remove the brackets and put these colors in first of the item name is the best solution.

• 

  Words here had already be a total mistake. The phrase "Request Stop" has two meanings, one is the stop that a train can stop at, it is noun. The other is the action to request the train stop, which is verb. Here the translator (possibly the AI) misunderstood the meaning and translated it into the verb one.
  Just write "招呼站", the most proper and exact translation.

Solution

There's a group of translators in Chinese Minecraft community whose are very glad to help translate mods. If you can use Crowdin (like Create Mod) or other platforms, localization will be much easier.

These words could be very emotional to everyone and be not accepted, but try to imagine you playing foreign-made games, and see words in your language is translated by machines, filled with mistakes.

I am going to look into Crowdin and its alternatives as you suggested and I can also remove the inadequate translation unless you have any objections to that.

I am also going to add a code of conduct somewhere in the repository which discourages AI generated translations and code (especially if the generated text is not thoroughly reviewed by someone who understands what they are doing).

Back to the issue. Describing things as detailed as possible is indeed the best way to show their usages. But, the "instruction manual" should be put in tooltips, or ponders.

The request stops were being used for decades, so most people do know the meaning of these three chacters. So using a combination of these two exist things to create a new word will make sense, and is what we did for dozens of new things. The player who knows the button is connected with a request stop, and the request stop is where you request and the train stops. It's easy to build a connection between the thing and the action. Then at the time when the player is going to build a request stop, they will go for the detailed instruction.
