Once zero had been saved for some dates, the data capture script tries to retrieve them over and over again. Even for the dates older than 90 days. Those data are not available anymore as the GSC history is limited to this time frame and so the data capture is unintentionally slowed down.
Solution: do not list dates older than 90 days (or maybe 100, if you want to have some buffer) in the data capture as those data are not available anyway.
