Better failure mode logging and alerting #49
Description
Observed failure:
Expired TLS certificate lead to no data being displayed through the MM-module. Error logs only said "Failure: null". Not helpful.
Need:
Catch failure mode issues like this across all data sources and (1) alert out and (2) inform user.
