Remove mockup tests and functions

To facilitate testing of the pipeline, a basic `sum` function was temporarily introduced. This was intended as a placeholder for the Github Actions pipeline. Now that the initial testing phase is complete, this mock functionality needs to be removed and replaced with the actual functions as they are developed.
