Reading analogue sensors

By analogue sensors meaning we can measure a battery voltage or something else?  Also how would we add those values in our payload?
I'm sending an array of numbers through Python 3 and to the TTN, hardware wise what needs to be done and what pins to use atop the HAT if anyone knows?

Also by sending a down link, is it possible to lit a led?
