Photos in RAW format

Hello!
First of all, thank you for creating, maintaning and improving this very useful software. I was wondering it would be possible to enable the possibility of saving the photos in RAW format as most phones tweek them artificially, altering the colors. Do you think would be a desirable feature to then later be able to extract more information from pictures?
