Change MAC address error

Hi,

I would suggest the following two steps:

First)
Learn how to use the tool from the command line.

Run it like:

ChangeMac help

Then try to change the MAC address from the command line even if you will get errors / wrong results (like the ones you reported).

Second)
Now that you know how to use it from the command line, do the following:

1. remove the "@echo off" from the script
2. run the script from the command prompt again and change the MAC address but redirect the output to a text file:

ChangeMAC.bat change "Interface Name" NewMac >output.txt

1. Share with me the text file.

My goal is to see why it is failing: my assumption: the parsing syntax of the command output is failing because of the Russian output of the commands?

Also, you can run the internal tests of the script and see what fails:

ChangeMac.bat __internal tests

etc.

If I had another Windows version, I could have fixed the bug easily.

After all, the Batchography book is an excellent resource for non-programmers as well to help them understand, write or fix Batch scripts.

I've sent output.txt file (open it in Notepad++ to see russian text correctly) to your mail. I think that first problem that it detects something wrong in adapters at scipts start - the 2nd one is just some text information about adapter type and interface name http://i.imgur.com/quewIWO.jpg and not real adapter name.

Thank you. I got your email and see the problem. You are correct about the error.

I cannot fix it. I recommend either fixing it yourself (should be easy and a nice exercise) or use the TMAC program.
