Decimal degrees to meters

Currently, there's a **very bad hack** trying to convert the decimal degrees to something *close* to meters.  It mostly works, but I've only really been testing in Victoria and Canberra. I'm assuming it's going to be very bad for Darwin and FNQ.

Changing this hack to an actual conversion between decimal degrees and meters would be super double plus good.
