Code contribution to ESPHome

Hi,

I got some ProS3 boards from Unexpected Maker which have the MAX17048.
I was thinking to contribute code to the official esphome repository to add support for this device.

Would you mind if I use your code as a basis (or maybe even copying it one by one)? Any objections?
Have you ever considered contributing your code by yourself?
