Description
We want to cover more building blocks in the course, for instance blind signatures. This would be like an encyclopedia. We can include the students in the creation of the encyclopedia.
In the Foundations of Crypto course, the students can find papers containing categories of building blocks, e.g. blind signatures, and write an encyclopedia entry focused on what someone in the Applied Crypto course needs to apply this building block, for instance, key sizes (security parameters). They can also improve on an existing entry, if that is a substantial improvement.
Then they present their work during a seminar in the Foundations course.
In the Applied Crypto course, the students improve on entries from the perspective of applying them. Do libraries or standards exist? Difficulty to implement?
Then they present their work during a seminar in the Applied course.
If they write their contribution in LaTeX and license their work under a CC-BY-SA license, we can use it to build an official Encyclopedia to use in the courses.
An alternative to presenting during a seminar is that they record the presentation as a short video that the other participants watch. It can also later be reused if it's of sufficient quality.
