It would probably be best to keep more compute and IO intensive operations on a separate device. You could then plug that device into your PI via ethernet. |

I thought about doing this but OpenMANET runs on OpenWRT and running OpenTAKServer, FreeTAKServer or a .gov TAKServer doesnt really work on OpenWRT. Best option would be to install OpenTAKServer on a 4GB or higher Pi running Ubuntu 24 Server and then on a 1GB or higher Pi run OpenMANET. You could fit all of it in a nice Pelican case and have a TAK-In-The-Box solution. |

Could this be integrated into PiTAK? I mean, shouldn't a pi4 8gb be able to
handle running manet and PiTAK at the same time?

You don't need a TAK server to use ATAK. ATAK devices will communicate with each other on the same network over multicast. We designed the network specifically to handle this. You only need a TAK server if you need different data feeds into the network or mission data packages. |

I have the parts on the way for a CM4 based radio. I was wondering the feasibility of integrating a NAS and/or iTak server to support a team of smaller devices across the network.
Mostly looking for GPS coordination, text, and voice support. And storage support for remote video recording backups or remote document access.
Any answers or links to point me in the right direction would be awesome, its been a long time since ive messed with Linux and rpi's.
