Hi,

I would like to use OpenBW for deep reinforcement learning. For this, I need

  • python 3 bindings
  • fast extraction of game screenshots

I am happy to contribute a Boost::Python3 binding for BWAPI myself, but BWAPI does not allow to extract game screenshots. My questions are as follows:

  • do you think OpenBW will in the end run significantly faster than pysc2 and if so, why?
  • how can I extract the game screen from the core engine reliably?
  • should I python interface BWAPI or should I interface the game engine directly, and if so, how? what is the most performant way of doing this?
