So, I tested the build on Ubuntu 20.04 last weekend and I got a successful build. I think what you are running into is that you used
openmpiand I usedmpich. So, try to change your mpi if you can. Ubuntu ships mpich 3.x and as I said that did not create any issues for me. Also, we will need to patchmpicpp-liteto support openmpi - we currently only test againstmpichso we did not see this issue.In case you want to stick to less compiling and using the packages from your distro, I used these packages from
apt: mpich, gcc (9.4.x), lua (5.3), libreadline (8.x). I had to build PETSc and VTK myself. VTK in ubuntu 20.04 is ancient. As for PETSc, people usually have to build it in a specific…
