What You Need to Know as a Teacher

(Final Deadline = when you submit homework grading sheet)

When Creating Lesson

Before the Lesson

• Your lesson and homework must be fully completed and tested by 8:35 AM the morning before your team teach.
• Your final pull request is due by 4:00 PM the morning before your team teach.
• Post your Slack announcement in the per1_teamteach channel before 7:00 AM on the day of your lesson.

Your Slack post must include:

• Homework deadline
• Group member names
• Link to lesson
• Link to homework submission (Google Form)
• Team teach date

During the Lesson

• Be prepared to walk around and answer questions after popcorn hacks.

Homework Grading Window

Note: You do not submit the homework for the lesson you teach.

• Make a copy of the template sheet.
• Homework is due for students 48 hrs after the lesson at 8:35 AM.

Final Deadline (Teacher)

Your grading sheet is due by 8:35 AM, 72 hrs after the homework due date.

This is the absolute cutoff for all homework included in the grading sheet.

If a student submits after you turn in the sheet:

• They must message your team directly.
• You grade their homework individually.
• Their maximum score becomes 0.7.
• You report the score to Anusha separately.

How to Grade the Homework

Homework is graded on a 0.9‑point scale.
(Scores may be scaled later depending on class policy.)

Grading Rules:

• On-time, correct → normal score out of 0.9
• Something extra or unique → 0.91
• Late (within 2 days) → deduct 0.1 and note “late”
• Missing → assign 0.55 and note “missing”

Every student must have:

• A score
• A justification/comment

You must:

• Copy the template
• Fill in every student’s score
• Include comments for late/missing work and justification for grade
• Submit the completed sheet to Anusha by your final deadline

What You Need to Know as a Student

• If you don't have access to slack on your computer at school: bookmark lesson links (announcement with links should be posted by 7:30 in the morning
• Homework is due 48 hrs after the team teach.
• You may submit up to 2 days late, but late work loses 0.1 points.

Extensions & Communication

• You may request an extension by messaging Anusha on Slack 1 day before the deadline with a valid reason.
• For homework help, message the students who taught the lesson.
• If you will be absent on your presentation day, message Anusha immediately.
• Poor communication may cause delays or point deductions.

The Master Sheet

The master sheet link
This is the official record of all homework scores.

Anusha updates it periodically using the grading sheets you submit.

Color Key:

• Red → Late (past final deadline)
• Blue → Team Teach Teacher (no homework score for that lesson)

Team Teach Visual Timeline

1 Day Before Team Teach

• 8:35 AM: Lesson + homework fully completed and tested locally
• 4:00 PM: Final pull request submitted

Team Teach Day

• 7:00 AM: Post Slack announcement (homework deadline, links, group names, etc.)
• If you don't have access to slack on your computer, bookmark the links before class
• Teach your lesson

48 hrs After Team Teach — Homework Deadline

• 8:35 AM: Homework due

48 hrs After Homework Deadline

• Late window (–0.1 deduction per day)

72 hrs After Homework Deadline

• 8:35 AM: FINAL DEADLINE — Grading sheet submitted to Anusha
• This is the absolute cutoff for all homework included in the Team Teach grading sheet

Master Sheet Phase

• Anusha will periodically update the master sheet with grades
• Extensions submitted to her will be accounted for

After Final Deadline

If a student submits homework after the grading sheet is turned in:

• They must message the teaching team directly
• Teachers grade it individually
• 30% late deduction
• Score is sent to Anusha separately
• Expect delays
