this might also be worthy to mention regarding GRASS' impact in scientific literature and Open Science:

DOI-based references to GRASS in scientific publications have more than doubled in 2025:
https://www.fair4g.org/grass.html

Based on the DOI statistics for gdal (https://www.fair4g.org/gdal.html) I would expect continuous strong growth in 2026.
