Experiencing the exact same issue, and if I had to hazard a guess it's something about the migration to the new lua based indent engine. For me, setting the indent expression back to the old indentexpr=nvim_treesitter#indent() fixed this problem, albeit I guess temporarily, it feels like more of a hack than a fix. If it works, you could add it to an autocommand to work around the issue for now.

To test if it works for you, you can just do :setlocal indentexpr=nvim_treesitter#indent() with an open file, and then test the indenting. To make it more permanent, you can add it as an autocommand, I just put it on BufEnter. Kinda brute force, but as long as it works right?

Something like this in your config:

I imagine this is because you're running an outdated version of Treesitter somehow. The Treesitter module already sets up the autocommand.

I also cannot quite reproduce the issue, but I reckon letting NVF use its own Nixpkgs would "fix" the issue on your end.

Your suggestion made sense, so I've tried disabling the autocommand and rebuilding the system with nvf's own version of Nixpkgs. Unfortunately, it yields the same behavior. I can't quite grasp why this is. At first, I wanted to blame the parsers, because when running checkhealth, Treesitter shows the following output:

However, I'm not necessarily sure this is the source of the woes, nor am I sure how I would get around to fixing it.

I don't have a lot of experience with neovim and I don't really have a lot to go on either besides the fact that verbose set indentexpr? will give me indentexpr=v:lua.require'nvim-treesitter'.indentexpr() - whereas in the working build from a few weeks ago the same command will yield indentexpr=nvim_treesitter#indent(), hence the idea to change the indent expression to the old one to see if it works.

I can confirm that this was also happening to me, regardless of which nixpkgs version NVF was using (stable, unstable, fixed commit from a month ago). Reverting NVF to commit ef1f22efaf4aa37ba9382a7d1807fa8ac9c097fd fixed the issue, and all the treesitter grammars loaded properly. Big thanks to you @KrappRamiro for posting the working commit!

I was also using that commit, I remember not only pinning my flake to that commit, but also seeing reddit users having this issue, so I passed them my commit. I am testing the workaround to see if it solves the issue for the moment.
